Yup, my daughter has been sick for a week. She has pneumonia. Because of the we are treated to every emotion the poor child has. Love, tenderness, compassion, anger, hurt, resentment, loneliness, the whole range and usually all in the same 24 hour period.
You have to just love them though. Patience is key to making the whole situation better. When she throws a temper tantrum like the one she threw this morning, you just calmly tell her that you'll be glad to talk to her when she is done. Then let her flail about on the floor, crying and screaming, until eventually she figures out that you are not giving her her way. Then you calmly walk over, pick her up. Dry her tears. Then tell her how much you love her and that temper tantrums are not acceptable behavior.
Then she yawns and you know it is nap time.
