So I went to the Salvation Army Goodwill Store to make a donation. I dropped off a bunch of stuff that did not sell at this years yard sale, some of which was left over from last years sale. I try to go there at least once a month just to see what books they have in and what records. For the past six months or so they have not had much in the way of selection for vinyl. I found Schubert's "The Trout"
and that's about it, which by the way I had been looking for for at least a year so its not like it was not a major find.

After droping off my donations I went inside and started to browse the records. I fell into a huge selection, I wound up buying 13 albums. They were some really good titles too. So far my favorite is a 1971 recording of Mozarts 4th & 5th violin concertos by David Oistrakh with the Berlin Philharmonic Ochestra. The vinyle itself is in neear mint condition and the sound is just flawless. A true gem.
I also scored another rareity, Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" conducted by Pierre Monteux with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Doing some research on this title I found that this is the masterpices that all others are compared to.
On Sunday, I finally made my way to Kent Island where a good person donated several records to my collection. Mary gave me two Deutsche Gramaphone recordings in near mint condition. Oddly enough one of them was Mozarts 3rd and 5th violin concertos as well as Dvorak Cello Concertos in B minor OP. 104 and Tchaikovsky Variations on a Rococo Theme. I did not get these until late Sunday night so I have not had a chance to listen to them.
What a great weekend even if it was a total wash out because of the rain.
